The Institute for the Environment & Sustainability at Miami University promotes and advances education on the core issues of sustainability for both the environment and human communities. Its mission focuses on the intersections of people and their surrounding agroecosystems, justice in governance and community security of place, food and culture.

The Institute’s integrated undergraduate curriculum is distinctive in offering co-majors that complement and add value to students’ primary degree choices, encouraging innovative approaches to sustainability across disciplines.
